It gives me pleasure to write this reference letter for Marie Mercurius. I am a Social Worker employed by CAMH (Centre for Addiction and Mental Health). For the past ten years, I have been involved in organizing the International Women's day Community Event for Women who are dealing with the daily struggles of being homeless or living in shelters.
Over 300 women attend this event taking part in self-care services, entertainment, and elegant luncheon, draw prizes and at the end of the day each woman receives a gift bag. This event is made possible through donations and many volunteer hours. We have a storage space donated by CAMH where we collect all the donations throughout the year.
Marie came to our rescue when we were told by CAMH that we had to clean up the storage space because it had become a safety hazard. Marie took on the task with enthusiasm and energy and as a result the space has been totally transformed into neatly organized operation. In fact, the before and after would resemble an IKEA Ad for innovation.
Everyone is thrilled with the results and are grateful to Marie for the many volunteer hours she given us.
